I'm totally guessing from research here and online, but I'm guessing that one is a hypo tangerine and the other is a bold stripe bandit?

Am I close??

I know they're boring "normals", but I think they're awesome.

Tonight Watson (the stripey one) ate his first mealworms! Two of them! And then went on to eat 3 crickets. Sherlock (the orangey one) hasn't figured out mealworms, but he ate 4 crickets! I am amazed at how much they can eat - after my little anoles...these guys are eating machines!

Thanks! They are from a local reptile store. The guy breeds them himself and has a lot of more interesting morphs available too, but I just wanted pets (for now at least!).

Can you tell what types they are? Is my guess close?

I'm still not capturing the colour quite right. Tomorrow night I'll try turning the red light off, instead of just adding the white light.

They do change some when getting older. My first was barely 6 Gr. when I got him. He is now 25 Gr. Some spots are gone and some new little ones have come up. He is also now starting to get a carrot tail. The orange is really getting bright. They do get bigger very quick. Take pics of them each week as they grow :)

Here's a couple more - any thoughts on possible morphs?

Thanks!

I think Sherlock is getting ready to shed! He's gone all translucenty pale. And he barely ate anything last night.
How old are they when their final colour develops?

As many people told me, it's tradition to tell everyone who mentions a red heat bulb: "Make sure you are using an UnderTank Heater (UTH) to provide 90-degree(F) 'belly-heat' for proper digestion."

They are cute :)

Also, google-search "leopard gecko care sheet" and read a few of them to make sure you aren't overlooking essential care tips. :D

I am using an UTH. But I also live in Ontario, Canada where it went down to -24C last Tuesday (that's -11F in US units). Without the heat lamp, the temperature of the terrarium only gets up to about 82F.

I expect to be able to turn it off in the spring/summer.

Believe me, I have googled "leopard gecko care" so many times, I'm probably throwing off the search metrics!

A tip I have been told by a friend that works at a 'big name' pet store who has a lizard of her own is to look at care sheets from breeders as they can give tips on how to best care for you leos without spending tons of money.
