Got this big guy last Friday(01/14/11) from the local Petsmart. :D
Employees say he's been there for at least 6 months, and that they don't sell Cresties very often, which might be why.
He's still a bit skittish, but from the time I brought him home, he doesn't run or jump at all when I go into cage for any reason, and as a matter of fact, he even licked some CGD off my finger when I put him in his viv. for the first time! :)
He's been eating, drinking, and defecating very regularly, and seems to be very active and healthy!
I couldn't be happier with my first gecko. :)
No he just needs a name.... LOL

Cute gecko. If you didn't think you'd enjoy geckos this much, wait until the urge to get another strikes! I promise it won't be long... ;)

Arum.... say, I like that too!
Damn. Naming pets is hard work. :p

I too thought he wan gingerbread-ish looking as well..... but I couldn't come up with anything for that. :(

You're right about wanting more geckos, it seems I'm constantly adding to the want list.
A Leo will probably be next on my list though. I currently know where there's a juvenile female blizzrd morph for sale at a local pet shop. $60 takes her home! :D

Well the crested hails from countries that are mostly french speaking so maybe you could go that route if you wwanted something more to character, but igoogle has a wonderful translator feature. The only reason I used latin is because of most scientific names are in latin, plus I think latin is pretty cool :D .

Awesome gecko, Wes. I've had my little one for a week now, and I'm already wanting another one. I think I might be buying a couple from someone on here soon... if I can get a viv set up for them before they're gone. They're really cool little critters.

As for the name Ginger in other languages... in Swedish it's Ingefära, in German it's Ingwar, and in Dutch it's Gember. Cheers on finding a cool name, bro.

I'm a 100% die-hard Metalhead, and I'm into alot of extreme Metal, but GWAR is actually one of my all time favorite bands.... even though they're not in any extreme Metal sub-genre.
They weren't a very talented band really, up until the release of, "War Party."
After War Party was deemed a pretty huge success, they decided to take their music more seriously, and are still producing great quality music today, with the latest installment being, "Lust in Space." :D
