I just got him (or her, that's still up for debate) but I can't even think of a name!

I thought I'd show you all a quick pic though (cell phone quality may suck)

Hi there! Welcome to GF :) Lovely leo you got there! I dont know how much I can help with names, but he/she is very pretty. I just have to say, please change out the sand for reptile carpet or tile, much better for your leo. Add a moist hide to the cage too, he/she will enjoy it very much ;)

Thanks, I've been researching about him a lot and I felt bad that I had the wrong substrate- so far he's only been eating out of his calcium dish so I'm going to get the rest of his necessary supplies very soon [Pet stores are so misleading, but my family has owned many reptiles before so taking care of him properly shouldn't be a problem].

Which is the best substrate? And how exactly would I put tile inside his tank? (Would that work with the UTH I have?)

I just saw him staring at the edge of his tank and his tail was slowly moving back and forth at a high angle...he seemed freaked even though nothing was moving- I then realized my calcium dust bottle had the image of a leopard gecko being reflected at him! I moved the bottle and he stopped. He must have thought there was an intruder!

I use repti-carpet. Its like felt and comes in green and brown. Looks good and is washable. A lot of people just use paper towell (easy to clean) which looks good to some people. While the hcoice is yours, you may want to use paper towel in the mean time. UTH goes UNDER the glass remember. Search the forums for tile dimensions, where to buy, etc... check in the housing forum. Good luck and cool gecko!
