whel, i got HIM 2 days ago. He was abit thin, but he is a juvie so thats understandable. I noticed a few small scratches on his body, and a kinked tail.
Looks like the petstore i bought HIM from didnt realize he was a male. They had three geckos in a 25long tank. they said it was 2 females one male. But now i am noticing pre anal pores that are semi-destinced. Looks like this can explain the scratches and kink. Poor Guy was getting picked on :(.

Anyways. It also seems like he ingested some of the substrate from the store (Red Calci sand) which i found in HIS feces witch was also was diarhea. Ive been soaking him in warm water to get the remander of this sand out. GRR!!!
He does sometimes have a Slight stutter in his step. But i think this is a result of the few scratches on his leg.
THE SCRATCHES ARE NOT DEEPand did not draw blood or break main layers of skin, but i do believe it caused him stress and along with the ingestion of sand from the store caused him to lose weight.
He is 6.7 inches long, did not weigh him (no wieghing device) he is NOT rail thin but is a bit thin. Is active... when we got home he ate 7 mealies.
Any advice on the problem?

-Note: did not get him from major brand name stores. Local pet store which i know and have bought fish from before.
Look at attachment for referance.
Thank you.

hmmm. Well, at least he is away from the bullies! (the other leos). My suggestions would include : Keeping him quarentined for the next 90 days, no exceptions. I encourage the warm soaks as long as they arent causing him more stress. You can also try putting triple anti-biotic ointment on his wounds. It is a great sign that he is eating! Pay VERY close attention to his eating, make sure he doesnt get off of his feed. I wouldnt be TOO worried about impaction yet. Him pooping out that substrate is good, he is getting it out. I would watch for lethargy and any thing else abnormal. Taking him to a vet also wouldnt be a bad idea to have a professional opinion.
Most of this I told you, you probably already knew but that is my best advice and Im sure other people will contribute as well.
Good luck with the little one and let us know how he is doing =]
