Hi everyone, just kind of introducing myself here. I had a leo when I was younger, Lola, she was a sweetie and after I lost her I didn't really want another one right away. I was asking around town for other reptiles I could give a home to, and found this little guy who needed a home.
I'm told he is about 7, his previous owner didn't like touching him, didn't keep him with heat. I went to get him and he was kept in a freezing cold house with his heat lamp turned off and the only source of heat was a heat rock! ugh!
I am also assuming he had no supplements because the woman who owned him seemed pretty clueless, which really scared me because he was kept on calci-sand! He's a little skinny, but nothing too bad. He also came home with incomplete shed on his toes and tummy, but he has been in his moist hide a lot since I brought him home.
He's such a lovely little guy, surprisingly friendly since the lady who had him said he wasn't handled much. Overall I'm very happy about my new friend :) His name is Norbert (yes, Harry Potter)

Anyways, figured I'd sign up here and check things out. Not really sure how to attach a picture but he's also in my display picture :main_thumbsup:

Welcome! It's nice to see new people around, especially ones who give little critters a new lease on life.

I hope your new guy adjusts well to his new home.

Thanks :) Yeah he's doing pretty good, he's in a 10 gallon right now, very basic setup, but I did a pet store run today and I'm all ready now to clean up the 20 gallon I have and begin "decorating."

Yay petstore run!

I know it sounds lame, but I used to always go on petstore runs with my ex-b/f. It was like a date or something. We'd usually get sushi or some other kind of diner and head to the giant aquarium store (which is attached to a pet store) and I swear it was better than going to a museum. There were more kinds of fish on display, all healthy and all for sale. We'd just spend hours looking. The best part was when the aquarium people took over the reptiles from the pet store. They looked so much more healthy and happy after that.

Thanks everyone. And yes, lots of fun picking up new "toys" at the pet store! Spent a while looking at all the reptile stuff, everything was sooo expensive though that I ended up finding a hide and water dish for him in the hamster section, around 2 bucks for each item, compared to the 8-20 dollars everything in the reptile section was. I took off the sticker with the picture of the hamster on it, Norbert hasn't noticed the difference yet :p
