As some of you know, I recently took in a couple of lizards a family was giving away for free. Neither one was being cared for properly. I really didn't think they would live through the weekend, but they're tough little guys, and now they're growing on me, so I thought I'd introduce them to you all.
First is Spike, a Mali uromastyx. According to the vet she is actually very healthy, despite being housed with no UV for most of her life. She's got a great personality too. (Her nails have been trimmed since this picture was taken.)
Next is the poor little crested gecko. I wasn't told his name, so I'm calling him Petrie. He is very underweight (around 32 grams). He also has MBD, which caused his spinal and pelvic deformity, but he moves around just fine and I'm giving him liquid calcium to strengthen his bones up. I had to soak him a bit to work some shed off his toes, and he's already lost a couple others. He's getting stronger every day, although he's still not eating much. He's also terrified every time I go talk to him, so I'm working on that too.
It's been kind of a handful so far, but worth it to see them doing well. Happy thoughts and prayers would still be appreciated!
