Is that carefresh?
Does it really work well with dragons?

Yes it is and I have have been using it (along with using it in my Bluey's tanks) with no problems for a few years now

I got the idea for using it for the Blueys first from BlueTongueSkinks.net and I thought that if it was safe for Blueys that it would work for Beardie's too

I keep babies on paper towels
:D

Wow thats awesome! I have hamsters so I always have carefresh.
I no longer have my dragon as of today, but thats a cool trick to keep in mind!

Does it help with the dragons odor of his bowel movements?

Haha yeah it is! Beardie poo is the worst smell I have come across in owning pets.
Esp when I had them on sand (Uneducated! lol)

But he looks great for an old fella! Nice and healthy!

He definitely looks like he's from another time. Have you bred him? I don't know if he could still breed but I would definitely consider using him to strengthen the ever weakening gene pool of bearded dragons here in the states. Undoubtedly at his age he's from a time where dragons were a lot hardier.

Surprising choice of substrate, I must say. Most owners would greatly contest the use of any substrate that isn't paper towel or newspaper.

I have a female that I am considering breeding him to in the future but I am not sure at this time if I am up to the challenge of caring for a ton of baby Beardies-lol

I did place Harry and Sally together months ago and I never did get any eggs from her which I find to be strange
I never did witness them mating so perhaps they never actually did

If Sally doesn't lay any eggs then I believe that I will not place her with Harry again this year as I have not been feeling all that well

Caring for my other reptiles is no problem but being on top of dozens of baby Beardies care is an entirely another thing-lol

As for the substrate-I have kept Beardies on sand-he was on sand for almost his whole life and I have kept them on paper towels too

I did a lot of reading and thinking about using care fresh for them and I decided that it would not hurt them as they are very similar in body size to Bluey's and has been widely used for them for many years

I am happy to say that I seem to be correct in my decision as they have been happy and healthy on it for a few years now

I stay away from the many Bearded Dragon forums because I have been keeping them successfully for many years now and have no desire to defend my way of keeping them

To each their own as long as we have happy healthy lizards-right?

Pretty dragon. Dragons poo depends on what they eat, it shouldn't smell so bad you have to leave the room, if it is i would have them checked out for worms.
