Hey been noticing a lot more posts about fish tanks so thought I would share mine. Its still a work in progress, I need to work on my aquascaping skills.

This was it last fall?

What kind of lights did you upgrade too?

I changed the light on my planted 75 gallon and had great results. I actually decreased the actual intensity, and shifted the spectrum a little.

I moved from (2) 175 Watt Halides, to (4) Power Compacts.

The top tank is a 45 gallon with an overflow that runs down into the homemade filter on the 29 down below. Then I have a small area divided off which could be considered a freshwater refugium, in which I have cherry shrimp and a few small fish. Then have a rio pump bringing the water back up into the 45.

I already had a dual fluorescent on there so I just added another one. I almost got power compacts but the money was just a little more than I wanted to spend. I have all low light plants in a very deep tank so everything seems to be doing great.
I also have a homemade dual fluorescent on the bottom tank.
