Did he give you any cream to put on it? Like silvadene cream? We had a male with a similar situation and the tail tip eventually fell off on its own. He has regrown the tip so that it's not noticeable. Have you checked and re-checked the temps because it looks like it could be a burn. Our males temps were too high and it caused his tail tip to do that. here's a pic:

This is what we did with the help of the vet- we clipped off the necrotic part and applied silvadene cream (an antibiotic ointment used for burn victims) about twice a day for two days.

I was worried about the tail because it seemed like it was red and squishy all the way up to the red arrow. Then we washed the cream off on the third day and let it dry out. We made sure the temps were correct and just monitored the tail for changes and it's now completely healed.

To me, that doesnt look like a burn. It just looks like necrotic tissue. That tail is gone, I hate to tell you but it is dead and it wont grow back. It needs to fall off or it could potentially spread. Again, my leo had the same exact thing. We found a superworm nawing on her tail and the open hole caused an infection =/ she dropped her tail and it grew back wonderfully. That small of an area on your leo wont be bad at all! I would recommend amputation before it spreads. Have they thought about a possible bacteria infection/ fungus type thing? Obviously I am no vet, so take my opinions with a grain of salt, but that is my opinion! =] I really hope everything works out.

+1

I would be very careful to prevent the infection spreading; seems like amputation is a good choice if she doesn't drop it on her own. As mentioned on your other post, one of my boy had his tail amputated under the same situation, his tail did not grow back, it just formed a little round stub. He is doing fine without a tail.

(Small wound on tail tip that lead to serious infection within ONE week's time)

There was no bite, im sure of that. Im totally clueless as to what it could have been. It started at the very tip and just progressed up.
This is what she is on
1. Injected vitamins. (done there)
2. Dweorming ( done there)
3.metacam (antiinflammatory)
4. Baytril (antibiotic)
5.Nolvason (soak)
6.Silvadene (cream)
