my poor lolita

Hi all, my female golden taild gecko(lolita) had recently become egg bound and was showing sighns she was nearing the time to lay them, last night she looked so restless and weak, this morning............. she was gone, passed away during the night.

She was always so healthy and vibrant, never a single issue, i just dont understand how this happend..... all my other reptiles were de sexed when i got them and was under the ussumption my goldan tailds were too, maybe hatchlings that are as small as golden tailds can not be desexed? i dont know, im just really down. thats the problem when you love your animals as much as we do. But i know she is at peace and am happy that she always had a good life and was always loved and given everything i had to give.

Thanks mate, just found out why she passed away, she was eggbound and due to lay but at some point developed a uterine infection, that is what is beleived to have led to her passing away.

Aparently There is no specific cause and no easy way to get around it as it usualy happens quite quickly. Damn i miss her hey, you dont releaze how much it would affect you untill there gone. like they say, you have to love to get hurt. im alright though, just been a bit down.

Has there been any recent progress in liberating australia' s black market reptile trade I had heard some time ago that they were debating on slackening their stringent reptile trade policies. My condolences for your loss.

And I thought all australian bathrooms had indigenous reptiles

I'm very sorry for your loss, Darren. As you know, we lost our female leo, Whitie, just overnight too. I still find it hard to accept how one can be healthy and eating one day, and then dead the next morning. It really breaks my heart.
