I built this last year, but figured I should share it with everyone in case anyone needs ideas :) It's made out of 3/4" melamine from Home Depot. I just bought the huge sheets and cut it myself, with my father-in-law helping.

How I ran the Heat Tape:

I'm pretty satisfied with it for my first rack. Very sturdy, heavy and will last a long time. Next rack I build though will be exclusively for babies and made out of some lighter wood, and maybe with a separate top and bottom half for easier moving. Because moving that rack is a PITA lol.

I didn't get any pictures of the build in progress, so if you have any questions feel free to ask :)

It looks awesome! I would like to build one very similar to that one for babies. Too bad Im no good with power tools lol! How much would you estimate you spent in all?

The wood was about $60. The foil tape, screws, electrical tape was about $10. The heat tape, I used 30 feet of the 3 inch flexwatt for $2/ft, so $60. 10 clip sets to hook up the flex watt. And the thermostat was the Helix DBS-1000 which retails about $130-$150. So a total of around $270/300. Lucky for me, I got the Helix for xmas :D lol
