My tank and set-up

Here is a picture of the tank I built. I previously used it for a tarantula, but modified it for the geckos. It is 2’x2’ which should be good for three or four leopard geckos. This 4sqft tank is covered in unsealed slate tile and the hides are mostly all made from natural stone. All stones have been boiled and cleaned with soap and water. I have it set up so there are at least 9 hides with 5 being completely covered. Using slate and stone makes it look good and simulate their natural habitat. All rocks are set in a sturdy way, I’ve tested all and none can fall and harm the geckos, so don’t worry.

I will be getting the geckos this weekend, and will post some pictures of them.

Comments/suggestions appreciated!

That design is exactly what leos like most, rocks and crevasses :main_yes:

Possible downside of it, your gecko will have a harder time finding
crickets (if you use them).
Crix can disappear in there in a heart beat, never to be seen again! :D
so when you go to clean it, you will find 100 dead crix ;)
For that reason, I keep mine simple.

Yeah I know what you mean, but the staple diet will be adult dubia roaches. I will be watching them so no left overs will be inside for too long. If it gets too much of a hassle I can feed the dubia out of a deep dish or put both the gecko and dubia in a separate little holder tank for feedings. We'll see how it works out.

Yeah thats what I do with my dubias, put them in a glass dish.
That way, they arent running around the tank looking for a good
hiding place.

Thanks for all the positive feedback, I'm happy it turned out so nice. Now I'm just waiting for this weekend so I can actually put something in it. It's been sitting unused for two weeks.:main_laugh:
