So, I have my baby water dragon in a really nice vivarium. Its a 90gallon sliding glass front acrylic cage from glass cages. I just fed him around 15 crickets earlier, most of which he ate. And yet, he will not stop clawing at the glass and rubbing his nose. I took him out and held him earlier... I dont know why he keeps doing this. His nose is almost raw now. Why is he doing this?

I'm not sure why they do it, but most of the ones I've seen do. If you look for water dragon pics online, you'll see that quite a few of them have shortened snouts. They are very energetic so perhaps it's due to limited space.

Those are all great ideas. Idk if it is too hot, but I have a warm side and a cooler side so he can choose. My thermostats say that the warm side stays between 83-90*F. The cool side stays anywhere from 73-83*F. I think it fluctuates so much because it is a big area.
I hope limited space is not an issue. It is a 90Gallon and from my understanding this size water dragon is suppose to have at least a 55G. So hopefully if a 55G is the minimum, then a 90G should suffice?
That is just what I have been told, but obviously it could be wrong information.

Well, they can get up to three feet long, so I'm not sure if a 90 is sufficient. I've heard of people using plastic tank liners to minimize the damage, but I'm not sure if it would work. I don't think it's a temp issue. Here's a link with some info.

Maybe it's the clear glass. Reptiles don't understand the concept of glass and he's probably trying to reach something outside of the tank and keeps trying and trying and trying hoping to reach it sooner or later.

Oops I just saw the link and read the info that were posted before, lol. Didn't mean to repeat the same thing over.
