About my leo:
- Sex: female
- Age & Weight: Not sure exactly how old, 38G
- Owned my leo: About a little over a week
- She was obtained: Reptile show

A) Health/History
- I handle my leo: Only every few days or so depending but only to remove her from her moist hide so it can be sprayed. She's only been handled though about once or twice.
- Acting different today?: Can't really tell since I've only had her for a short period of time.
- Any problems in the past: Not really, no.
B) Fecals
- Describe: How about a picture instead?
- The last time she went: Yesterday
C) Problem
- Please briefly describe the problem:
There seems to be a bit of a mysterious bump on her lower body by the right leg. Looking back at previous images, I think she came like this unless it happened on the way home. Also I'm fairly certain another I got from the same person has a broken toe but since I don't think anything can really be done about it and it still seems flexible I don't think that's much of an issue so long as it doesn't cause future shed problems.

Housing:
A) Enclosure
- Size: 15 quart
- Type: rubbermaid tub
- Type of substrate: paper towel
- Hides, how many, what kind: one ziploc container for a moist hide with eco earth.
B) Heating
- Heat source: heat tape
- Cage temps: 80?-90?
- Method of regulating heat source: ??
- What are you using to measure your temps: thermometer/thermostat[?]
- Do you have any lights: Nothing except ambient room light.
C) Cage mates
- How many: None.
- Describe health, or previous problems: None.

Describe Diet:
A) Typical diet

- What you're feeding: A variety of mealworms, dubias, and sometimes crickets.
- How are you feeding: Fed with tongs or in dish, usually dish since she's a bit skittish.
B) Supplements: Calcium dish and dusting daily.
- What vitamin/minerals are you using (list brands)
Repashy calcium plus for dusting and repti-calcium without D3
- What are you gut loading food with: crickets/dubias get the grain stuff from the store I get them at along with a variety of carrots, oranges, and sometimes a strawberry. I plan on expanding their diets however. Meal worms just get a carrot bit.

oh wow, thats scary. :( i dont know what that is but it looks like swelling to me. in picture 2 her right leg looks like it is setting funny to me. backwards looking even. does anyone agree that her hip/femur looks like it is broken or dislocated? maybe that is causing the swelling. i reccomend taking her to the vet because that does not look good at all, and i dont think you will be getting a "for sure" answer on here... good luck with the little guy. btw, does she walk funny at all on that leg?

No vet but the lower spine looks kinked as well as a problem with the leg maybe a spike in incubation or a serious injury in the past. Maybe a professional should take a look. I definitely would never breed this one. I never get over how a breeder would ever sell something like this without letting the customer know.

Yeah when I noticed this I figured she wouldn't be able to be bred if it was a permanent type of deformity or even a broken bone since even after it healed, it likely wouldn't have healed in a good way for her to be bred even later on, essentially healing into a deformity.. Even though it would be something that couldn't be passed down, it could still harm her.
If it is though I guess I may have to give her up, perhaps try to return her to her former owner or maybe try and sell her as a pet only. Although I will most likely end up just keeping her. Not like I don't already have one that likely can't be bred so why not have two? Perhaps I'll set that other tank back up for her so she can be on display at least even if she can't be a breeder. After all, she is a pretty girl.

Also I agree, it's a bit frustrating when they neglect to mention such things but again, it might have happened during travel but I can't be sure. It's also partially my fault however for not giving them a good look over. I guess this is just a lesson learned though and a seller I should be wary about or avoid all together. At least these guys were not all that expensive, this raptor girl here having been tossed in for $30.

As for the leg thing, I do think she was having a bit of trouble with that leg when she was climbing onto her moist hide. She seemed to keep missing the ledge even though it's not even that high. Perhaps a little later I'll try and capture a video to see what you all think. If she is injured however, she certainly does not let it slow her down any as she spazzes around the bin.

There is no way that sort of injury happened on the way home, unless you stepped on the container it was in without noticing same on that breeder. I would put them on blast in the inquiry section so no one else buys from them. Take a pic from the top in one photo the lower spine also seems kinked.

Well I messaged the seller and this is what I got.

"
Ask *name withheld* about this. She came from him and he says he has several like this. He says it is normal-just a leg out of joint and he says she can be bred with no problem."
Though despite their saying this, I still likely won't breed her just in case.

Now the person she is referring to is a seller I know and have purchased from before with no problems thus far except for once when a female had some problems shedding and was stressed from being housed with another gecko so she was returned to heal her back up but apparently some other problems came up and she didn't make it. Although that freak incident was made up for with a major discount, basically deducting her full price from the price of another gecko whom is happily living within my colony to this day and is mother to all my eggs. I also have two others from them who were also discounted for us and are doing just fine as well. Especially the one whom is eating like a ravenous pig and is quickly putting on weight.

Anyway I may look into seeing a vet but there wouldn't be anything that could be done about it either way is there?
It just seems like I'd be stressing her out by dragging her out into the cold for something that can't be fixed. :c

That is no normal leg out of joint, if he has several like that I would say it's hereditary. I've seen hundreds of geckos and and have produced and owned quite a few on my own, many have taken a fall or two and no with anything even close to this. that's crazy

Yeah it is. Also I'll be trading her for another gecko from her original owner. [a sunglow raptor]
It's a smidgen hard to tell from this
image but she seems fine, limbs seem to be in their correct orientations and no lumps.
I'd simply try and return her to the woman I purchased her from but she lives to far out of the way for my ride to want to go and I'm not yet comfortable driving on express ways let alone to a different state.
If her original owner had not agreed to trade for her, we would have simply kept her.

I just hope that next time that woman will tell her customers about if there's any kind of issue with the animal she's selling, regardless of if she or somebody else thinks it's something that isn't a big deal. Even if it's a small thing, the person buying the animal has the right to know.

Good for glad it worked out
