Hey everyone,

We're new to the community, but have been reading and re-reading the latest posts/updates so as to best avoid redundant questions. That said, we wish simply for clarification of a few things. Your help will be greatly appreciated!

Firstly, we think our female is pregnant with her first eggs. The first picture is a picture of her belly.

Secondly, we're not positive as to what morphs our geckos are. We think they're probably just normal and normal/tangerine. The second picture is the 2 of them together, and the third picture is the male, Eugene, alone.

Thanks for your help in advance!:D

1.) That belly picture does look like she's gravid. I'm seeing an egg follicle on the right.

2.) It looks to me like you have a Normal and a Tang.

Thank you!!!

One more question... We are concerned about the positioning of what looks to be another egg. It's about the same size as the other, but where it is in her body looks harmful. Any ideas?

The only reason we ask is because our female is only 30g. We're worried she may not survive when she gives birth.

We've been feeding her every day, up to 10 crickets. She seems to be fine-- not lethargic. She's active and has a healthy appetite.

I guess what we want to know is if it's possible she will survive her first clutch at such a tiny size.

Note: The whole pregnancy thing wasn't neglect or ignorance; we asked a breeder if we should separate the two, and she said not to bother because they wouldn't mate until the female was ready to birth eggs.

Your girl is definitely gravid with what only appears to be one egg. The egg may not be fertile, but make sure she has plenty of calcium. As long as she it eating well, don't be concerned, but when she stops eating, she will lay her egg within a few days. Make sure she has a lay box with moist peat moss to lay it!

I will bet $5 USD that you will have two eggs from that girl.

Any takers?

Yup we have a lay box and everything prepared! The incubator is on the way... we're picking it up this weekend. From what we've seen we don't think she'll lay for another 2 weeks.

If that is a second egg, is she in danger from the positioning? It's really wrapped up there on her side...

It's perfectly normal. Good luck and get that incubator dialed in!

Update: Lola laid TWO eggs last night/this morning! We were so concerned that she was too young/underweight (8 months old, 30g) but she's doing great and got her appetite back. The incubator is all set up. Now we just hope that the eggs are fertile!

We want to thank you all for your input because it really eased our minds and helped tremendously! :)

Congrats and good luck! Don't be surprised if she lays again even if you have her away from Eugene. They can lay multiple times from one breeding.
