So yesterday I decided to buy a leo, the guy at the store told me a light is required but I've been reading online and elsewhere that they are not. I have a heating pad on the right side to make a heat gradient, and the pad is keeping the ground of my tank at a nice 90-93 degrees at all times. My air temperature in the tank ranges from 70-75+ and with the light it gets up to about 80. Should I be using a light on top of the heating pad? Or is just a heating pad sufficient for my little guy. He's a juvenile, about 3 months old.

Sounds like the heating pad is plenty of heat. Make sure the gecko has access to 70 degree end of the tank. You don't want things to get too hot in there

I would prefer to use just the heat pad, but if you use the lights and the heat pad make sure to keep an eye on the temperature and humidity just to be on the safe side :)
