Finally got a good pic of my new gecko (first time owner). Can anyone tell me about how old he/she might be and how the color looks and if he/she looks generally healthy. He hasn't eaten very good since I got him a little over a week ago but last night he did eat 2 crickets! Please and thank you! IMG_1362.jpg

I'd say the gecko is maybe a couple months old. Looks fine. Body is full, tail isn't skinny. No obvious signs of MBD or physical birth defects. Beautiful gecko, btw.

Oh thanks! I bought him for my 17 year old son for Christmas and I've just fallen in love with him/her! I'm so glad he looks healthy! Night before last he ate 2 crickets and last night he ate 2 crickets and 2 mealworms! Is that about what he should be eating for his age or should he be eating more?

Looks good. I think it would help more if you could get the weight too. Mine is about 10 grams and eats like a PIG!!! He eats at least 8 small crickets a day. I know I'm over feeding too but when I got him he was only 4 grams and I picked him up on the 1st of December.

I have a juvenile leo that is over 35 grams now. I got him when he was around 7 grams. I have been feeding him about 12 mealworms a day the whole time.

Ok so do you put all the crickets in at once, some87? I've heard if there are too many in there with him they will bite on them. Mine ate 3 med size crickets last night. I'm so glad! And what do you weigh them on, a food scale or something?
Please and thank you!
