need help with tiling

Ok here's the deal. I am switching the sane in my guys cage out, and replacing it with regular laminate bathroom tiling. What I need to know is, how do I do this? Do I fasten the tile to the bottom? do I put paper towel under the tile so it doesn't get too warm? Is there anything else I need to know? Is the heat lamp going to make the tile too hot?

Sorry for so many questions....lol just wanna make sure I make the right choice for my new guy.

I put my tile right on the bottom of the tank without attaching it so it can go in the dishwasher for cleaning. I use dimmers on my heat pads so I just wait for the tile to heat up then adjust the temp if needed.

Also, the tiles we have, have a bit of a smell too them, is that gonna be ok, or will that have an effect on him

The other thing I need to know is which kind of tile is best

We have regular bathroom tiles, the thin ones, laminated. That is what I was going to use, is that good to use, or should I get something thicker so it does not get too hot

you need to get something that isnt laminated. Needs to be unglazed or the leos will slip all over the place.

You could just flip those over and use the backside.
