One of our females is pregnant and we suspect that she may be egg bound. She is acting somewhat lethargic and she just keeps getting bigger and bigger, but she will not lay. We moved her into her own cage to make sure that she has minimal stress and she's eating normally. We plan on contacting the vet asap on Monday morning, but what should we do for her in the meantime? We've been letting her soak in some warm water. Is there anything else that we can do to possible speed this along and maybe get her to lay?

Yes. We started breeding them this year, so there is a lay box in every cage that there is a female. She also has a constant source of calcium and we give all of our gravid females calcium drops periodically as well, so that should be fine too. :/

If she's eating normally, she probably isn't ready to lay yet. It seems like it takes them forever to lay that first clutch. Even proven breeders take longer for the first one of the season.

What worries us is that she's constantly appeared to be gravid since right after we have her. We check her and it's seems completely obvious that she's carrying and then we check her again a couple weeks later and they're gone. We haven't checked her in a WHILE, so we don't know how long she's actually been gravid "this time". And she's somewhat lethargic. And she's just so BIG!! Idk. I'm just paranoid about my babies. lmao
