Need some assistance please. I am trying to find a website that educates me in breeding leopard geckos as to which strands are more dominant then other. I know about the Albino strands and not to mix them but was more curious about SHTCT, Blood Hypos, Electrics...along those line. Are these dominant traits? Like if i breed a blood hypo to the tremper albino is it going to be dominant Blood hypo with 50%het tremper? I am just having trouble figuring it all out. Also I was wondering about SHTCT/Blood Hypo female breed to a SHTCT/Electric Male. I have two babies that have hatched from the pair just cannot tell what they are yet. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

All the various lines of Tangerine such as the ones you mentioned are not dominant, they are what's known as polygenic. Polygenic morphs such as Tangerines, Bold Stripes, and Halloween Masks (as examples) all stem from a regular Normal, which is dominant. However, polygenic morphs are achieved by a process of line breeding. For example:

You hatch two Normals with a small amount of Tangerine influence. You want to enhance and further develop that Tangerine influence in the future generations, so you breed those two Normals together. The babies hatch out Normals, but with considerably more Tangerine coloring on the body. This process of breeding the offspring with the most desirable traits together goes on and on until the desired result is achieved. Same with Bold Stripe and Halloween Mask, and Line Bred Snow as well. It's all about taking the geckos that exhibit the most desirable characteristics and breeding them together until you obtain the desired product.

So in a case where you breed a Tremper to a Blood Hypo, since the Blood Hypo stemmed from a Normal, it will be dominant in this case and you will get Normals 100% het for Tremper. However, these geckos will not appear like your average Normal. The Blood Hypo influence will most likely appear in them, though the influence will be much less orange than the parent.

Make sense? This forum has tons of great advice and threads, all at your disposal.
