Well I put this in the introduction section but I now see there is a spot for it here.:main_rolleyes:
I have a gecko I bought two weeks ago and was told she was a blizzard. Some people say no she is a patternless and some think blizzard. So maybe you guys can tell me for sure what she is.

Thanks.
So the adult female on top is a patternless- good.
What about that baby Blizzard (she is pictured by herself and with the albino)?
The albino is a Tremper Albino- glad to know.
Thanks so much.

Oh, what is the difference between blizzard and patternless? They look about the same to me.

About the adult... I can't say if its a blizzard or a patternless, they look quit similar, so... The real difference is that blizzard babies don't have any pattern at all, and the patternless babies do have an (different) pattern. Some people will say the blizzard are lighter in colour, but when you rear a blizzard at a 'low' temperature, it also gets dark. The only way you can tell if the adult one is a patternless or a blizzard, you have to crossbreed it with a patternless or a blizzard, the offspring tells you the genetics of the animal.

What do you mean by bell?
Also the adult is a lot lighter than the pictures show her to be. She looks grey in the pics but is not in real life. She also has a deeper yellow in the pics then when you look at her.
As for the baby blizzard can you tell if it is a blizzard? She is much darker than my adult that was suppose to be a blizzard. The baby is like a gray color with deep metallic gray eyes that almost are to dark to tell they are gray.
This is the one I am talking about that is a baby and is supposed blizzard..

This is Giselle and this picture show more of how she looks but she is still much lighter in person

I will get some better pics today. All of these pictures have been taken at night in the dark with a flash. It makes the color look different.

I am loading some new pictures I just took. I agree. I think they both look patternless. They are to dark to be Blizzards. I am going to have to buy my blizzard I so desperately want from a reputable breeder that knows what they are talking about.
Giselle just shed and she has more yellow on her body now. I think she is definitely a patternless and the baby I think is going to be patternless too. I can see some yellow coming in and she is really dark but when I get her out and hold her she lightens up a lot just like Giselle. Her eyes are much darker then Giselles but I think they are going to look the same. Oh well, that is fine because I am already attached to them. I will just have to get a blizzard later on.
Will post some pics shortly.
Thanks so much for the hlep and the albino is a bell albino instead of a tremper albino?

Here is the adult Giselle. She is a patternless. These pictures are showing her true colors.

This is Simone. I think she is a patternless too and not a blizzard.
The first couple pics is how dark she is in her cage but then while I was holding her she got lighter but seems to have some type of marbling on her head of darker gray and light gray. She has really dark eyes.

The best way to tell the difference between Patternless and blizzards, once they are adults is: with patternless, the yellow "frosting" on the body continues onto the neck and stops at the base of the skull. With blizzards, the "frosting" stops at the shoulders. Blizzards cannot develop ANY yellow on their neck and head. If you want to be sure about the albino type you have--post a good pic of the eyes, and let us know what tempeature it was incubated at, and we can give a more informed response.

Tnx for the info on the patternless/blizzard thing. About the albino, I'm quit possitive it's a Tremper albino.

I never "worked" Patternless, but have bred a decent amount of Blizzards and they definitely can develop color on their heads...

Dragonaddict, your's are Patternless IMO... By the way, Blizzards do get dark; some more than others... The pictures I posted were when they were in their "pretty moods"... Later that night any of them could have been slate gray... Substrate. heating, and stress all seem to contribute to the change...

As for the albino? I say Bell for sure...

Well I went and bought a couple more today. I have solved the mystery to my geckos.
Simone my adult female is a patternless and we already established that.
My albino Olivia is a Tremper Albino due to not redness in the eyes so she is not a bell.
My little Blizzard Simone is a blizzard and the darn thing for some reason I put them in a bigger home and she is white now. She has more hides to hide in and space. I think she likes the better temp gradient it gives.
I also came home with two more leo's I purchased.he he
I have a 1.5 yr old Leucistics (he said is a patternless they are the same thing??) Her name is Sophia and she looks exactly like Giselle but a tad darker but not by much.
I also bought my male Blizzard and his name is Bogart. He looks just like Simone my blizzard female just a tad bigger. He is a month older. I am letting them settle in and I will get new pics of the new kids soon.
Thanks to all that helped.

Thanks, and yes 420geckos has some awesome blizzards!
Its funny my little blizzard female was a deep slate metallic gray color and now she is clear white. I did not know they had the ability to change colors like that:main_huh:
She is in a bigger home now and a few minutes after being in there I had to do a double take to make sure it was her. She likes to be handled too. I am in love!
I need more blizzards :main_laugh: :main_laugh: :main_laugh: :p
I want some hypos too. The guy I just bought my two new ones from will keep me posted when he gets some new ones in.
The adult female I got from him is nice and fat and super sweet.
She likes supers.
