hi all, ive got a little situation on my hands. my gecko stewie has started to act completely different than he has ever acted. anytime i open the cage to feed him or clean up the cage, he chirps/screeches, and runs to his hide. hes what i guess to be around 1 yr 7 months old, and he appears a tremper albino. he is in a 20L tank by himself. the only things i can think of that would make him upset like this would be that i changed his tank slightly when i put an uth on the tank bottom and bought one of those 2-piece rock hides( which he uses the upstairs ledge as the restroom :main_no: boys will be boys i guess). he was being heated with a light , but now i have it there in case its needed, but i'm not using it. the hottest spot is around 95 degrees.he also lays where the uth is, i seen on the directions that it means that it's too cold, but i didnt think it should be warmer than 95, but there is the air temp to think about too i suppose. i don't want to get him stressed enough to drop his tail. i havent held him but maybe once in about two weeks because of him getting upset when i go in the cage. i've never seen him act this jumpy before, could it be possibly because of mating season(maybe a dumb question, but just thought i'd throw it out ther)? i have no other leos as of right now either, just thought i'd put that in as well. if i've posted this in the wrong place, i apologize, i thought this was the only place this should go. anyone have any ideas? :main_robin: thanks in advance.

oh by the way, he is still eating as well, although sometimes he will lick the mealworm, but will turn away from it ; probably just not hungry but i thought i'd mention that as well. thanks

Maybe since he's not being bombarded with light he can finally see you for what you are, and he realizes you're a big scary human. Honestly, I have no clue. Changes in environment can do strange things to animals. If he's eating and pooping I'd just give him some time to adjust.

you may be right about that:D it's probably just that he needs time to adjust, like you said cheaton, but i just thought i should ask about it, to see if there was any reason for concern. thanks
