I'm debating on holding onto this gecko, but I'm not sure what I'd want to breed him to. I think it's going to be a boy even though it was incubated at 83.

Parents are a tang enigma het tremper and a hypo co-dom snow, both from JMG.

I really don't want to buy more geckos right now, but I'm not sure if I have anything that would be good for next year.

What would you suggest? Hopefully this post will help me decide if I want to keep him or sell him. Thanks!

Well thats tough to decide sometimes, my thoughts are if you don't have any projects for him/her then maybe let him go, Even though he's beautiful, maybe just but some macks or supers w/ him? I really like his pattern though too- you could take a gecko w/ a redstripe, jungle or some other nice pattern you like and put that more into the enigma's.....I'm not always the best when it comes to this...so I have Henry do all the breeding projects- for the most part.. Or I just thought what about putting cremecicles and /or some nice Tangs w/ him- he'd produce fantastic cremecicle enigma's!! :)

If it turns out to be male you could breed it to your Agnes or if it turns out female with your Hannibal.

Dump it and use the $ to fund a gecko from me. :main_laugh:

No really, that's a very nice mack enigma, but selling it off would be your best bet with the projects you already have.

I really love how he looks and I wanted a snow enigma last year, so that's why I'm leaning towards keeping him. I'm 95% sure it's a he. I'm pretty sure I can find at least one female for him next year, maybe two. For now, he's a holdback, but that could change. I'm not going to name him quite yet.

Thanks for all your ideas. Let me know if you have any others.:)

Well,
With those genetics, your best bet for breeding it would be nice sunglows or tangerines. The look of him/her would be lost if you add more mack genes , but adding more hypo tang will enhance the appearance.

Thanks Paul! I do have a couple sunglows and some tangerines.:) I'll be retiring a couple breeders next year, so this might be a fun project to replace one.:)
