My 1 year old female recently prolapsed. I took her to the vet and she pushed the prolapse back in and has since not re-prolapsed, and has been treated for parasites and salmonella, plus I have been giving her neocal, and feeding her critical care a/d dog food mixed with lactated ringers. She has FINALLY started eating crickets again on her own, but she has lost A LOT of weight in her tail.
I was wondering what the best thing to feed her to put some weight back on her. A lot of places say don't feed a lot of waxworms, but are they acceptable to put the weight back on?
Any other suggestions are welcome! Thank you!

Try the combination of superworms and dubia roaches, a higher fat & meaty feeder (superworms) along with a high protein healthy feeder (dubia roaches). They'll pack on some weight on your female in no time as long as your gecko will eat them.

As long as your gecko is eating, waxworms are not necessary.

I would do like a 1 feeding a week of waxworms until she fattens up a little. We use to feed our beardies waxworms after they got sick to gain some weight back on. No more than once a week though. Another thing is... make sure u gutload your feeders to the MAX! don't just feed your crickets and and worms to her right away. Make sure they have eaten for a full 24 hours.
