alright so a lil more than a year ago... my wife and i found an ad online that they had 2 lizards that they didnt want anymore... we replied back and asked what kind and was told a gecko and an anole... so we said cool! we have both always wanted a lizard but never had one... so we go pick these guys up... complete with tanks and all... not knowing a thing about them other than the lil green guy didnt like to come out lol... we picked our "gecko" up and snapped some shots of him... we bring the pics to the city and go to the pet store that we frequent and ask them... what is he and what do we do to take care of em? well instintly the petshop girls mouth just dropped... she told us how they are the devil of all geckos and we should not of been able to pick him up :main_no: and was told all about there nasty attitudes... now i must admit it was hard to beleive after handleing our guy so easily but we got to later experience someone trying to catch one in a pet store... makes ya respect em just a lil more :main_laugh: so i just thought i would share that a year ago we were clueless and here we are now with a bit of a clue and a total of 6 lizards, this was our lucky #1 that got us started... and yes if we let her, our 2 year old daughter will walk around with him saying gecko all day long lol... enjoy the pics :main_thumbsup:

the best part is that makes us feel like we made a great choice is when we got him he was completly unable to hang onto glass, a lil thiner and not much in the way of energy... hes like a brand new gecko... wich is why we are now up to 6... all but 1 the were all unwanted! :main_no:

I love tokay geckos. I wish I could get one that's so tame like this! Amazing!

Great looking little guy. Good job taking care of him. :)

I want a tokay too, but i wouldn't handle not because they are typically mean, but because they have super sensitive skin and I have seen ones skin rip!
Its scary.

I would not call their skin sensitive I would compare it to a snake maybe the one you saw was dehydrated? or low humidity? I don't know but I do know you have nothing to worry about handling them, well minus the nipping atleast imo

i would assume there was something wrong with the one that had the skin rip... thats just odd... we have been handleing this guy for a year with out issues or any extra caution... hes been great... we are afraid to not handle him :main_laugh: dont want him to go back to the typical ways!
