Hi! Brand new to the site, and to leopard gecko ownership in general, though I have kept a variety of reptiles and other animals in my life.

I picked up this little guy from a local pet shop, where, when asked what kind of morph he was, I was told 'Albino'. So, if anyone has a better idea of what Belmont is other then just albino, I'd appreciate some feedback! Also, I've heard that when young albinos are sensitive to light, and I've noticed when I turn the 40w bulb on over his tank, he seems to close his eyes when he runs around. I would just forgo the regular light for a few months except that I tend to keep weird hours, and I have the windows covered with blankets for the winter (to keep the heat in) and I don't want his day/night schedule to get really messed up.

I was also told that they get these guys as babies from a captive breeder, but they didn't know how old he was, just that they had gotten him about 2-3 weeks ago. Does anyone know what age breeders usually let babies go at? Or what age he looks to be? Thanks!

Sorry about the crappy quality of the photos, I took them on my iPhone.

What a cutie, looks to be albino to me as well, but not to sure what type of albino since there are different kinds.

He looks young, probably only a few months. Keep us updated!

He is a cutie. Just an FYI on the light... if you do need to keep a light on him to help with day/night cycle you can use a regular incandescent 15 watt lightbulb. I think a 40 would hurt any leo's eyes. You might even try a light colored blanket on that window just to let a lil light thru. ALso leos don't need any type of uv bulb just in case the petstore told you otherwise.

Cute leo! His posture in the 2nd pic is very funny! If you're going to use a light in the room, just provide him with lots of hiding places. As long as he has somewhere to hide in the warm and cool end of your setup, he'll be fine. Congrats and welcome to GF!

Yeah, I'm hoping he can teach me how to be that relaxed!

I do have an additional question, when people post:
1.2.0 Leopard Geckos
1.0.0 African Fat Tailed Gecko
1.3.2 Crested Geckos
0.0.2 Viper Geckos

is that male/female/unsexed? I've never seen this explained! :)

I sell my geckos once they are well established at around the 20-25 gr mark I also make sure I gice care sheets out also.Just a suggestion.if u want to view your leos I use the infrared bulbs. It helps with my raptors that are hyper sensitive to light.I'm not sure if that was what info u were looking for in regards to your odd hours

Cute leo :) I just wanted to make sure you weren't using the light as his heat source, they need belly heat, so you'll need a heat mat if you don't already have one :)

Congratulations!

Nope, I have an UTH on one side, combined with a red nighttime light and now a 15 watt bulb for daytime light. I also have a hide on each side plus a wet hide.
