New Baby/Concern

Hi everyone! This is my first 'non-furry' animal ever! I just got this little guy two days ago.. But I am worried about his color. Most pictures I've seen of normals are very yellow, but mine seems to be very cream with tiny hints of yellow. Does this mean he is sick? Also, he is about 4 inches. (Just measured, so I edited!) About how old does that make him?

I definitely love his pattern and think he is super cute!

Thanks in advance!

It looks like a perfect healthy baby Leopard :)
The color is also very nice...it will probably be a "wild" colored gecko or "classic" as some also calls it.
Congrats to your first Leopard gecko :)

Thanks for all the kind comments, I appreciate it!

He is definitely eating a lot so hopefully that's a good sign. Last night he polished off about 8 crickets and 5 mealworms, the night before he ate a few crickets and about 15 mealworms!

Thats awesome that he is eating so soon after bringing him home, a lot of leos take a couple days to settle in and begin eating. He is soooo cute!!

Yeah, I was super happy! The very first night I brought him home he seemed very calm so I offered him a few crickets which he ate. But the very next day he had a huge appetite, it was really cool! :)

I still am trying to figure out how old he is.. The lady I got him from said 4 months but he seems a lot smaller than other 4 month old geckos I've seen.

could that possibly be a mack? i have girl that looked just like that when i first got her.

I don't really know anything about the morphs, but upon looking around I did discover he looks a lot like the mack juveniles. Between that and reading everyones replies here, it at least made me feel better that he wasn't sick just because he wasn't yellow! :D

Just wondering if anyone could give me a generic approximation of age? I was told that he was 4 months old. I'm not sure if that is accurate or not, or if you can even tell by size? I just am unsure as to how to figure out when I switch him from daily feedings to every other, etc.

Thanks!

i'm no leo genius, but i don't think you can necessarily tell age based on size. it depends on a lot of things.. like how well they were taken care of before you get them. if they were fed very well, they'd be much bigger than one the same age that was not fed as well or taken care of. plus they grow at different rates, same as humans or any other animal!

I also has some that were born early in the season that grew at a faster rate then ones that were born late in the season so I think it is hard to tell age by size. She/he is a very cute little guy and it is great that it is eating so well for you right off the bat. Good luck with your new baby.

I'm fairly certain that she/he is about 4-5 months old.
