So, this is my new male! He doesn't have a name yet seeing as I cannot think of anything original or fitting. . . :( Also, I was told he is a Leuistic leopard gecko, can anyone confirm?

Definitely not a Leuistic leo, I own one and she's not that color.

I said I was told he was that, not that he was... :main_huh: Hence the, "can anyone confirm?" I'm FINE if he is a Blazing Blizzard, shows I've gone to, they go for crazy ridiculous amounts, and I got my guy for 20$ from a local. Either way, he's still mine, and that's all that matters to me.

Sorry if that sounded like I was being mean, I wasn't trying to be mean or anything.

:) Yay. I'm happy, he and my mack snow female get along great now! Just have to build a bigger tank, and make/purchase an incubator. It's going to be a fun season! <3

Those two leos are not big enough to be sharing a tank. Not to mention, why isn't the male in quarantine?
If they mate, the female can die from being too small to pass eggs.
They look to be in the 25-30g range from your pictures.

They can and will ovulate and mate at that size, but it is to their detriment and takes energy away from growing up the rest of the way. It will also make for weak and sickly hatchlings, if any eggs do get laid successfully.

You should separate them until they are both over 50g. If the boy is doing tail rattling, you're already in trouble.

Also, I'm not sure the eyes on your blizzard look albino. His skin color certainly does, just not sure about the eyes. Does your mack snow have any hets?

She was in a cage 3 times smaller than the one shes in now, with at least 12 other leos.
He was in a cage half the size they are in now with a female twice his size.
Just saying. So I'm thinking a 10 gallon tank with multiple hides (which you can't see from the pictures) isn't the worst thing for these two. Also, you keep mentioning hets. Wtf are hets? I've read hundreds of online articles, I've read books, I've done my freaking research and I know how to care for them, but what the hell. You want them? I'll ship em to you for free for making me feel so damn incompetent. I thought people were supposed to come on here for help. Not to get bashed by other members.

No one is picking on you, just offering helpful advice so you can be successful. Het means, any trait (color, etc) that is in it's genetics. Pretty much means recessive.

het = heterozygous for traits like albino, blizzard, patternless, etc.

I wasn't picking on you, but you really need to learn more before jumping into breeding. I also think that learning by possibly having your underage female dying by being eggbound would be a worse experience than the emotional discomfort of being told you need to do something different in your husbandry by a stranger on a forum.

I am sorry if I offended you, but you shouldn't breed ANYTHING (gecko, cat, dog, horse, etc.) if you don't know the basics of husbandry and genetics for what you're breeding. I love Kiger Mustangs, but don't know near enough horse husbandry. Were I to say, inherit a ranch, it would be irresponsible for me to just throw the first male and female horse I found together before I found out what supplements horses need, the right sort of exercise regimen, appropriate and inappropriate treats, what too many green apples can do, etc.

You're at the right place to learn, so please keep an open mind, and I will try to be more tactful. You've been a member here for several months, I thought you would have picked up a bit more information than your posts are evincing by now.

In addition to the egg binding issue and the basic genetics knowledge issue...

I'm counting exposure to thirteen other animals from at least two different sources, with unknown exposure beyond that before they were purchased. Bacteria, viruses, multicellular parasites... transmission vectors vary for each but with that kind of housing and history, it's a lot like those STD commercials. Your leos are being housed with every other leo that leo has ever been housed with.

Even if the breeding were a non-issue (it's an issue), they should be separated as a consequence of normal quarantine procedures. And given a 1:1 interaction, probably for general maintenance, given the common behaviors of sexually mature males.
