These are my new male and female leopards!! The male is a tremper and the female is just a high yellow. Are there any other types of leo's I'll get or will they just be normals? Please let me know!! THANKS!

Nice looking geckos! But yes, I agree, you need better substrate like floor tile, news paper, or paper towels. Clean up is easier and cheaper in the long run.

Is the bedding bad for geckos or just not cost worthy?

I will, but just curious why can't i use it? A reptile guy suggested it.

When I go to get my oil change, they always try and tell me my air filter is dirty, my car's due for a transmission flush, my wipers need to be changed....etc

People do this all the time, it's called up selling. They do it make a extra buck off you. I'm serious use some paper towels, that's what I and many people use. When they go poop on it you just pull it out and put in a new sheet. :main_cool3:

Thank you very much and just curious what do you feed your leo's?

Honestly, I've never seen anyone use that kind of substrate. My guess is that it probably isn't good for the geckos. I mean I wouldn't take the chance of them accidentally swallowing one while eating a cricket and possibly having issues with digestion.

This also goes for sand, wood chips, egg shells, tree bark....you get the picture.

Here's my setup. Simple yet efficient. http://www.facebook.com/pages/JT-Ge...p?v=571297055901&oid=165559213508066&comments

Cheap and easy is right! And the geckos seem to be happy. lol The only thing I ever buy at pet stores is calcium and sometimes mealworms if I can't order them, otherwise home depot has everything you need. :D:main_yes:

That's really cool that you built your gecko racks. That is something I want to do when we move into a bigger home. All I have right now is a 3 shelf rack made buy some company...specialized for reptiles... I dunno I forgot the name but yeah too small for what I want.

I also agree with everyone else but you want to dust your crickets or mealworms with calcium with d3 and then have some calcium without d3 in the tank to let them eat it when needed.
