Here is my concept for a more convenient
cage...

The objective of this concept was to make everything easier. I use a typical 10-20 gallon aquarium setup with the metal lid. Its a pain to take the lamp and lid off everytime I need to go something, and cleaning the cage is another story. I just wanted for everything to have its place and for it to be better looking than anything out there.

Features:
- 9"x 9" Grate for heat lamp
- Funnel with tube for filling water (removable for cleaning)
- Funnel for food (crickets) removable for larger food (mice/rats)
- Pull out drawer for ease of access (removable for cleaning)
- Convenient handles
- Heating Pad shelf
- Mountable surface for fluorescent light
- Can come in a variety of colors and sizes

This is neat--it looks like a gecko iPod and I would definitely think about buying one if they were on the market--but I have three suggestions:
in the stackable set you pictured above, wouldn't the air vent/heat lamp area be blocked by the cages above?

My heat lamp clamps onto the cage due to my having a cat. I had to cut a hole through the wire mesh top of my tank to affix the lamp. This might also be a problem for your tank as well. I see no raised ridge or anywhere to affix the lamp with a clamp; I'd have to cut a hole and ruin the nice design. :(

The third suggestion is, would the pull-hole have a recessed vented handle? Right now the pull handle just looks like it's an open space, which would make it fine for leos, but climbing geckos might climb right through the hole. I can also imagine particularly clever cats or possibly parrots figuring out how to get in there.

I like this idea alot. lots of potental. Maybe the next rack system! My biggest pev. with them is you cant see the geckos. I use 10-20 gallons too so i know what a pain they can be but i dont use heat lamps. itd be steller if a UTH/heat tape/cable could be worked into that. Like i said i think this could be the next rack system design;D

The idea is very nice, looks really high tech. Whats those cone shape things for? I would put the vents on the back of the tubs or something, and I would make 2 different sizes, one for arboreal reptiles, and one for terrestrial reptiles.

I do like the design? It looks very cool.

what are the dimensions of the floor? Remember Geckos like floor space, and one adult should have around 200 sq. inches

about the lamps not being able to be used on the stacked cages - I think that idea (stacking the cages) could be directly related to a rack system, i.e. in a rack system lamps are not used, heat pads/tape/cord is used instead.

and as far as I can tell by what I've seen and read - all the other suggestions and questions have been answered to. There is an area that can be seen from the back of the cage specifically for insertion of a heat pad or tape and the cones are for feeding/watering purposes. I do agree about the indentation for the handle area, rather than a hole. I viewed it as an indentation at my first glance.

great concept! I can seriously see these selling well. they remind me of those betta bowls...

I like the design, and I love the funnel idea for food to drop in to. Problem is that by the picture showing them stacked it looks like those would be blocked. Maybe put all of the tubs on their own slide out rails, so you can pull one out on a rail and drop food in, then slide it back in?

A suggestion i have for the ventilation problem is that you could have it on the top left and right edges.

but yea there are many problems with this it is a nice concept though. If it had technology inside of it like bottom heating that would be nice
