Hello, I am new to keeping cresties (well reptiles in general). I have several years experience with fish and mammals and thought it was time to try something different. I have done a lot of reading an a lot of question asking. I have recently purchased a 1 year old male from a breeder who needed some more room. My question is, what is the best way to provide heat for him? I'm concerned that my house my get a bit too cool a times? Would the heat cables wrapped around a vine/branch work, or an under the tank heat pad? Also, I am feeding Repashey CGD (as the breeder did), do I need to supplement calcium as well?

Thanks!

What temperature is your house? They usually dont need a heat source unless your room drops into the low 60s.

Sorry, I guess I should have mentioned that. My thermostat says 70 -72 depending on the time of day. The thermometer in the gecko tank reads 68-69, I'm not sure why it would be cooler in there, I would think it would be warmer. I've only had him for 1 day now, he's pretty active at night, haven't noticed him eat yet though. I just want to make sure he is comfortable.
