Hi All,

So past year my female laid eggs for the first time. I incubated and they turned out to be infertile.

Now the same female has laid her first eggs for this season in cocunut fiber( i know its not good I changed today to Vermiculite). I got them out right away, put them into a air tight ziplock container with vermiculite( used the snowball method for water ratio) closed the container and put right into my exoterra incubator with the fan off.

The eggs look much whiter and Brighter as opposed to last years. In am attaching pics if anyone could tell me what they think. Any advice is greatly appreciated!

There's really nothing wrong with the coco fiber. Some breeders actually incubate in it. Your eggs look fine from what I can tell. You should have hatchlings in the future, if everything goes well. Congrats! :main_thumbsup:

I would be able to tell better by the feel of the egg than by the look if they're fertile. But they look like they're good from what I can see in the picture.

I use coco fiber in all my lay boxes, as do several other breeders. I've never heard the ph complaint. Is someone doing a litmus test on it, or what are they basing this on? :main_huh:

Keep a close eye on that incubator and the temps. I have had 2 of those exact incubators just decide to crap out at random times during the night and had temps fall fast. They were only used for one season before they just quit.

Thanks for the tip in the incubator. I have heard of others having the same issues.

I hope that the eggs will be okay. You guys/girls have me worried about the genetics. They seem to be fertile so I hope all is okay
