Hi everyone i recently got a baby gargoyle gecko and have had it for a week but it doesn't seem to be eating anything. The breeder i got it from said that it was just eating the crested gecko diet but it wont seem to eat any for me. I am getting worried so any help would be much appreciated.

Before you get overly concerned, are you seeing any poops in its cage?
What kind of substrate are you using? If it's papertowel, you should be able to see poops on the floor.
If not, check the cage accessories for poo.

How old is the garg?
How big?

If he's small (and sometimes even if he's big) you will not even notice any dents in the food at all.

I think its about 2 months old and not much more than 3 inches long. I'm using coco fibre so i can't really see any poo apart from a bit of the white stuff on a branch. I'm wondering if its a little too cold in the room its in, would that have an effect?

Hand feeding time. Mix up your diet and add a little baby food to it. I like peaches or bananas then take a Q-tip dip it in the diet and let the Gargoyle lick it off. You can do this by holding the Gargoyle in your hand or while it's in the cage. You can slowly reduce the amount of baby food that is added to the diet once it starts feeding on it's own. Good luck and you can do it!

Patience. It's only been a week so it's best to leave it alone so it can get use to it's new home. I have never seen any of my gargoyles eat even the adults but they all do.

my crestie was about 2 weeks in, and still not eating, so i fed him a dubia ate that thing like he's never eaten before, and then slowly i've seen dents in his food and finally after about 3 weeks i finally saw a poo, other than that just urates, could just be the stress of the new environment.

I would consider switching over to paper towels. Right now you should be in the QT period and paper towels will allow for you to monitor the feces itself, and how much is being put out. And on eco earth bacteria and parasites can happily live in there, so eco earth doesnt make the best QT substrate.

But I have never seen my garg eat. But I have found mine really does prefer the over flavors of CGD, she loves fig and I am considering getting her mango also.
