I got a new Crested Gecko today and put it into his tank. The tank has moss mats on the bottom and they have water on them, anyways so this little guy was sleeping for about 5 hours on the wet and cold mats. He just woke up and I took him out to see how he is doing, when I did he felt very cold. Should I leave a light over his cage overnight so he can warm up and then he can move down or to the other side if it gets too hot? Can I just leave the light on 24/7 and have him just hide when he needs to?

Crested Geckos will certainly feel cold. They like temperatures in the range of 65-75 F, which is 20-30 degrees lower than your body temperature. They get stressed at warm temperatures very easily, so do not apply extra heat. The gecko knows what temperature he wants to be.

Certainly do not leave a light on 24 hours a day. These guys are nocturnal and those hours of darkness at night are vital to them.

Alright, should I still leave a light on during the day or will the light in the room be enough for them?

As long as there is light in the room there is no need for a light to be on, unless the room is dark
