If you were in my shoes, starting from scratch. What would you start with for a setup of 2 to 3 leo's? I was thinking of a 20 long or a 30. I would like to do a natural display but again I am open to any idea. Any suggestions are very welcome. I must say I didn't realize that there were all amazing morphs. It is so very cool.

Thanks,
Brian

hey dude.
Glad to see that you have found an interest in geckos.
I would firstly check this site and other resources in regards to keeping leos. They are such a great gecko! Basically i would set up my tank first. Tank, under tank heater, hide, water and food dish and research the best substrate. I'm sure some1 will give you some great advice on substrates... i am in australia and cannot keep leo's unfortunately so i'm not 100% on what they need in terms of substrate.
So yeah.. get your tank ready and then enjoy searching for the little guy or girl to complete your setup.
Be sure to let us know how u go

substrate really depends on the age of the leo, with babies or young juvies, i would stay away from any type of sand or loose substrate. newspaper or paper towels is the way to go, and very easy to clean. with sub adults or adults, you can go with larger gravel or the play sand that home depot/lowes sells. i normally would say 10 gallons per adult in a tank, so 3 would need a 30 long. but most of my leos are in tubs

Ok, I bought some equipment today. 20gal Long tank. Night light just a red incandescent lamp on the screen. I have a 30" compact florescent for daytime light. I got a 10-20 gal Zoo Med UTH. Is this the right size? I have a couple of questions about it. It says not to use it if you are putting in on a stand that doesn't have an opening under it and also not to use it without a substrate? What is everyone doing with their's?
