New Gecko owner

Hi just joined recently and am learning so much! Was told I have a Leopard but being the poindexter I am, didn't put 2 and 2 together to figure it out myself so I came here!(his name was already Leo lol) Got him free from a friend. Planning on upgrading the tank to a larger very soon and get rid of the substrate. Will post new pics soon of his new home when it comes. Glad I found this site it rules!:main_thumbsup:

Maybe it's the pictures, but it looks like you need a water bowl. You also need a moist hide. Good choice on changing the substrate. I suggest slate tile. Also, are you using an undertank heater?

Yeah its the pictures. In the second one above, the water bowl can barely be seen in the back. I don't have an under tank heater just the lights that the previous owner was using. Said a red one during the night and the one in the pictures during the day. The day bulb is kind of purple in color. The only hide is the magnetic rock that hangs on the side. How should I create a moist hide? I will get him one asap should I switch to the slate first? Just cover the bottom of the tank with slate tiles like found at home depot? I can get slate cheap from a friend gonna work on it this week.
