Hi all!
I've read a whole bunch of posts here on this forum, and it's encouraged me to go ahead and get myself a leopard gecko to finally fill my new Aquarium. I just got him 2 days ago, he's a baby, about 5 inches long from nose to tail.
My question is this: how do I teach him to eat the calcium powder from the dish in his aquarium? When I got him from *****, they had the babies lying on that Calci-sand stuff, so I think he's used to getting his nutrients from that, and now that i've brought him home, he keeps licking the reptile mat I've got him on, and then trying to dig through it. I think he's trying to get some calcium from it. He's been home for almost two whole days now, and hasn't gone anywhere near the calcium dish.
I'm actually thinking about setting up some basic video surveillance to see if he's going over at night, but I spread some out so that I should see some footprints around the area if he does eat it, but so far nothing.
What do you recommend I should do?
Thanks!
-Bob
