I went to the pet store today just thinking about getting everything I needed, when I glanced into the Leo tank and set eyes upon this cutie!

I wasn't planning on getting one today but I held him and he was pretty calm. Not sure how old he is.

I'm pretty sure he's male though, there is a bulge, but I'm no expert.

Also, I have a heating pad under the tank but I'm still not sure it's getting hot enough. Should I get a lamp too?

And I put some mealworms in his tank and he hasn't really looked at them yet, but I'm hoping he will want those more than crickets :main_yes:

I think you should get a ceramic heat emitter rather than a heat lamp.

If you're not sure it's getting hot enough, you probably don't have a thermometer. If after you get a thermometer the temps still seem rather low on the hot spot you can supplement with a heat lamp(or ceramic emitter) over the hot side as well. Just monitor it carefully. I only need a lamp in the winter because I'm in the basement. That's a nice-looking leo you got there, too. He looks healthier than I'd expect coming from a pet store. (assuming it's from one of those 'smart's or 'co's.)

You're right I don't have one, I'm getting one tonight though. And I will also look into a heat emitter, those do look safer.

It wasn't from a 'co' or 'smart', it was more of a family owned pet store.
