It's my not-so-secret dream to have Snow Afghans some day. I took the first step last year when I picked up my afghanicus male, Hawkeye. This year, I've acquired a couple females for the group. Both are from Geckos Etc. Herpetoculture, run by Steve and Debra Sykes. They have the best-looking Gem Snow line I've seen.

Some pics from the unboxing...

Introducing Rebel, E. m. afghanicus female.

I will be seriously impressed if anyone can tell me why I named her Rebel. :)

And also introducing Fantasia, Bold Stripe Gem Snow female.

She seriously did not move at all in the bin, so I ended up with five shots that are almost identical. lol Of course, when I went to pick her up to move her to her quarantine tank, all hell broke loose! Someone needs a bit of taming...

These girls are both into quarantine for the next three months, so you won't see too much of them in the meantime.

Very happy to have them both here. Fantasia has a bit more yellow than I would have liked, but she makes up for it with an amazing pink-lavender undertone on most of her body.

I forgot how difficult it is having new geckos. The ladies both found their humid hides and have not moved from them at all! Now, the worrying begins...

Is this pretty common? I seem to remember Hawkeye being a lot more active and moving about, even though he didn't eat for two weeks.
