New guy here...

Hey everyone. I've been lurking for awhile, and figured it was about time to stop in and say hello. Anyway, I'm a HUGE music fan. I love pretty much every style of music, but Rap. I just can't get into it. Metal is my favorite style, but on any given day you're more then likely to find Classical, Celtic, Bluegrass, old- Country, Rockabilly, etc... in my stereo as well. I play guitar, bass, drums, keyboards, and I'm currently taking bagpipe lessons. I have a few tattoos, and few piercings. And, I love to read and write... usually it's horror, sci-fi, and fantasy. But, again, I'm known to branch out in other genres for the sake of broadening my horizons...and gain more knowledge. I have a few short stories published in some anthologies as well as in a few magazines. With that said, most of my publications have been in small press form. So, they're not widely available.

Now, the reason I'm here. I'm a 35 year old, burly guy with a soft spot in my heart for 4 legged, sometimes more --- sometimes less, critters. I say more because I once rescued a pgymy goat that had 5 legs, and I've also been know to rescue snakes as well. All my current kids (most people call them pets...but they're my children) are rescues.

Thanks for letting me be here. I hope to learn a lot more about geckos, and other critters, here so I can continue to help those in need that can't help themselves. Take care.

Thanks, Wes. I appreciate the welcome. As for getting a gecko... I already have a crested gecko, and several leos.

Anyway, what kind of METAL do you like the most? Me, it's probably Death and Black.

I love Thrash. I even like some of the new age Thrash bands like Evile, Municipal Waste, etc. As for playing, yep... I've been playing guitar for over 30 years and have been in several bands that have opened up for some well known bands... like Cannibal Corpse, Behemoth, The Black Dahlia Murder, Morbid Angel, Nile, Lecherous Nocturne, Exodus, Forbidden, etc. However, my former band is currently on hold. Several members were military, and one went back to college.

Yeah the newer wave of thrash bands(Evile, Warbringer, Skeletonwitch, etc...) are pretty cool IMHO, and I'm glad REAL thrash is making a comeback finally.

What's your bands name?
I'm good friends with David Vincent from Morbid Angel, and Phil from Municpal Waste, I might be able to land you some openers or something...?

Yeah I've been playing guitar since highschool....12-13 years or so now???

My current band, which is on hiatus, is called Symbiotic. Hopefully we'll start up again later in 2011... if not, I might try to get a few more guys to help me out. When I opened up for Morbid Angel (in '91 I think) I was in the band Morgatorium. I started that band when I was about 15. Lol!

I'm actually friends with the guys in Nile and Lecherous Nocturne. I live about 30 miles from Greenville, SC which is where they're both from. They're really good guys. Also, I know Kevin (Quirion) of Order of Ennead and Deicide. But yeah, bro.. if and when where started up again... I'll let you know and maybe you can help us out. Thanks.

What kind of guitar gear do you have? My current live rig is a Vader 4x12 cabinet, with an Engl Savage 120 head. I run an AxeFx through that, with one of my 25 guitars. Speaking of guitars, I've really been using my Moser BVi (black with silver bevels), a Jackson DKMG, Jackson Kelly, and three Ibanez S guitars --- all with active Seymour Duncan Blackouts, the most lately.

I'm down to one guitar currently, and oddly enough, it was the first one I bought brand new(back in....2000 I think?). B.C. Rich Warlock "Metal Master" IIRC, w/onyx Widow headstock, Seymour Duncan dual pickups, etc... Digitech petals(mostly).

Guitar is my dwindling hobby it seems.
Between work and family, I have almost ZERO time to play...

I gotcha. I don't play as much as I should be. I mean, I still write songs all the time, but I'm balancing my time between work, family, and building my cabin in the mountains. I have a lot going on right now. But, I make sure that I have time to spend with my critters throughout the day/night.
