Hey everyone. Wulf here. You can read my introduction over at the "introduce yourself" thread if you'd like.

With that, here's a picture of my sweet little crested gecko. Her name is Lizzy, and no it's not because she's a type of lizard. I named her after Liz Taylor, due to the eyelash thing... LOL! I know, it's cheesy, but I also have a hedgehog named Lucy (after Lucille Ball), because she curls into a ball when she feels threatened.

So, without further ado, here's Lizzy: (I think she might be a harley...what do you all think?)

Sorry for the poor photos... they were taken with my iPhone. My digital camera is currently on the fritz.

Thanks, everyone. I weighed her today, she came in at 12 grams. Just curious, how often should I weigh her to make sure she's gaining weight properally? Once a week, twice a week, etc.? Again, thanks.

It's a little hard to tell with the pics, but I would probably call it a Flame (a high quality one, at that). You might be able to get away with calling it a lower-quality Harley, though. Generally Harlequins will have patterning going up more than halfway on their sides for most of, if not all the room between their front and back legs. Lots of patterning on the legs is also required.

I weigh all my geckos once a week. That should be enough to get an idea if weight gain is occurring.

Thanks, ento890. Geckos are like tattoos... once you have one, you need more. One's just not enough. LOL! And crested geckos are just so sweet. I've been looking at gargoyles as well. Maybe later down the road, I'll be in a better place to be able to start with some.

Hey, Mercury. And welcome!

Well, I'm not 100% positive that Lizzy is, in fact, female. But, I'm pretty confident. I say this due to lack of hemipenal bulges (which will be just below the vent), and I used my jewelers loupe (magnifier) to look for preanal pores, but didn't see any. Granted, Lizzy is still a bit young, so she may turn out to be a he.

You can go to: http://www.pangeareptile.com/id52.htm to find out exactly how to sex crested geckos. Pangea, and Ciliatus.com (Thanks, Ryan) are both great sites to learn more about Cresties.

I hope that helps. And, please, post pics. I'd love to see them. What's your crested's name?
