Hi guys,

I'm a little new here and new to geckos too. I'm very interested in them though and I am planning on getting myself one this weekend at a reptile show. Last night before I got home from work, I stopped by and bought myself a 10 gallon tank. I'm only planning on getting myself 1 gecko though (for now). I didn't realize until I got home that the tank was a plastic 10 gallon tank. I heard that geckos can climb plastic. Can anyone verify that for me please? I own a chameleon and I have crickets and dubias in plastic containers. I have an extra plastic container laying around in my closet. I was wondering if it is okay to use that plastic container like the ones for my insects as a house for my gecko? I don't know too much about housing yet. I was thinking about taping the bottom corners of the cage like I did to my insects so they don't climb and I was also thinking about making a rectangular hole like my insects and putting mesh over it so my gecko could get air. Is this a good idea or should I return my plastic 10 gallon tank and get a glass one? Thank you for your time! :)
