Hello. I have a chance to get a 5 year old Leopard Gecko, male, with everything included. Hides, lights, tank, etc. All for $150.

I already have a Bearded Dragon that I adopted from an owner that was not taking proper care for it. I have had her for about 4 months now, and I love having her.

I am interested in a Leo Gecko, and this one is the only one in my local classifieds. Apparently he's really healthy and eats anything you give him.. But he doesn't really like being held, and that he might scratch you.

Can geckos change their ways in that he might grow accustomed to me and get more comfortable so he would like being held more? I don't want to buy him if hes just going to sit in a tank day and night.

My leopard gecko sits in her tank day and night. She doesn't like to be handled at all, and is perfectly happy to stay in her tank and let me feed her when she's hungry. :p I don't think leopard geckos "like" being held.... They tolerate it.. lol!
I have a few different hides and climbing things that I put in and take out to keep her stimulated. I leave her 3 main hides where they are though.. She gets cranky if I move those. It would take A LOT of patience and hard work, even then it may still not tolerate being handled. Leos don't like being messed with all the time anyways... They LIKE to sit in their tank all the time because that is where they feel secure. That's their home.

Yeah, reptiles don't "like" being held. They aren't advanced enough to have those kinds of positive emotions. The gecko could become more accustomed to being held with some (very patient) work, but some geckos never do. There's no way to know at this point, but keep in mind that they prefer to just be left alone in their tanks. If you're looking for something to handle and play with, I'd suggest a furry little animal instead.
