New to the forum, just wanted to show off my cage i built. I went for a Aztec/Mayan ruins look. No live plants, yet. Only live frog moss.
It houses an adult male crested, one juvinile gargoyle, and 2 Pdf's. Surprisingly, they all get along very well with no troubles. Now for some pics...
It started as an entertainment center for my tv that i built in high school woodshop but my tv went out so i decided it was time for a project:
At first it was intended to be for a snake i.e. the lighting setup.
So i switched my mind and went the gecko route. After cleaning thoroughly, i cut plywood 1/4'' thick to cover the back up. Siliconed all the corners and edges. After bought a piece of oak to put in bottom front of cage for the substrate. Measured and got some sliding glass doors.
When all done, changed the lighting and got some UV/UVB. I decided to go with coconut husk for its humidity capability as substrate, but didnt want the wood rotting so i put a coat of sealant and lined the bottom with laminate tile.
Then came the "decorating" part. Used cork tile as backgroung:
Some vines:
Some fake plants & grapevine wood:
And as for the ruins look i got an Aztec feathered serpant head, which i drilled a whole through the mouth for the repti-fogger, and a little pillar/courtyard thing from a pet store for a fish aquarium:
And the frogs:
And the Geckos:
Thanks and enjoy. :main_thumbsup:
