New Here

Hi everyone, I am new to this forum and new to owning a gecko. My son has a bearded dragon so we are familiar with lizard care but geckos are a little different. I did my research before we bought our little guy or girl last night. We bought him for our nine year old son, he is autistic and asked for a pet the other day. He has never been interested in pets before. It is going to be a great way for him to learn some responsibility. He has held him and did really well, he was extra carefull. He named him Dash.

Our family now consists of myself, my husband Ben, Joey age 11, Zach age 9, Rachel age 8 now the pets, Vicki(6 year old black lab, Zach's service dog), Fred(4 year old beardie), Tiger(3 year old orange tabby cat), Cinderella(1 year old dwarf rabbit), And now Dash(6 week old albino leopard gecko).

It makes for a very busy house but it is fun.

Hello and Welcome... I am also a new member to the forums (joined just a few days ago) and I have had my Albino Leo for a year now and just acquired an African Fat-Tail Gecko. They are really easy to care for. Im also familiar with Autism and my cousin and one of my second cousins are Autistic and well as a friends child and I think it will be an amazing opportunity for him! I would love to see my baby cuz interested in something like that and real simple for him to help with feedings as well. Good luck with your new adition!

Thanks everyone, I am sure I will have lots of questions as time goes on. So far we are doig ok. He seems to be happy, and Zach is happy to have him. As soon as I can I will figure out how to post pics of Dash and Zach.
