Hello all,
I went to the repticon about a month and a half ago,and the had some rescues of leopard geckos there,just couldn't resist,This is SinJin,a male,he has lost his tail at one time,and the only problem is one of his eyes is different from the other,not to sure if he can see out of it,we have to hand feed him too,he is so spioled:main_yes:
Heres some pics of him,I will try and get some pics of his eyes to show you and get a pic of his setup

Heres his set up,Left side of pic is hot side with UTH temp is 85 degrees,with a night bulb and day bulb on timers set at 12 hours,humid house in middle and right side is the cool side gets down to 70 degrees,and poos in that corner and last pic he just woke up :main_angry:

He looks very healthy. I love rescues. I have two of my own. May a suggest upping his UTH temp to 90-92? You really do not need the overhead lights, room lightning is all they need. Have fun with him!

Overhead lights are good for heating though. Sometimes it's hard to keep temps up with just a UTH, and since they're only at 85 now with both, removing the light will likely drop it more. Plus then the ground but also the air stays warm. Though I wouldn't recommend using a night bulb that produces light, as that can be disruptive.

Congrats on the rescue by the way. He's adorable.

It looks like a film of some sort but its not,it seem to be the way his first layer of eye is,its hard to explain

The pics aren't very good. So it's not the eye itself? I've heard of some eyes being cloudy due to a vitamin A deficiency.

While a diagnosis can't ever be made over the internet, I have seen things like that before due to a vitamin A deficiency, which is quite common in leopard geckos. His legs look kind of puffy, too, though that could just be the picture. What supplement(s) are you using?

I dust 2 to 3 times a week
his eye has been like that since we got him,they told me they dont know why its like that
I was just hoping someone has seen it before and why its like that

I think Exo Terra produces a few of them. Which one is it? Can you find a pic of the bottle? Most people here use Repashy Calcium Plus, which is an all-in-one supplement to use for every feeding. I like it because it's simple but also provides plenty of what the gecko needs.

Did they say how long it was like that before you got him? And/or what they were using to supplement with previously?

they had no info about him he was a drop off rescue,thats all they said

That doesn't contain any vitamin A, from what I can see. Here's an article definitely worth the read: Vitamin A deficiency in Insectivorous Geckos | Gecko Time I would personally suggest picking up some Repashy Calcium Plus. You won't need the Exo Terra stuff then. Just use it for every feeding. I wouldn't be surprised if the cloudiness was caused by a vitamin deficiency, and I'd be interested to know if it would be cleared once being given vitamin A.

You could try a saline wash every few days, but I'd bet it's a Vitamin A thing too.

So I took a better close look to his eye with flash light,you can really see it,Ill post more pics on the health post and explain more detail

Got the Repashy last weekend, I was wondering will his eye go back to normal or will it always be like that?
