New Hide?

Okay so i was messing around with a cheap bread pan, and I thought, "maybe I could make a leopard gecko hide out of this?"
So i took my handy dandy scissors, and cut 4 holes into it, and put tin foil on the bottom. Then i took a lighter, and went around the outside and insides of the holes to make sure that they wouldnt scratch my geckos. Here's some pics:

would this be safe for them??

I'm going to say no, the heat might make it an oven for them.

I thought about that, but i also thought that if i put it on the cool side, it wouldn't really be a problem? Because i only have a UTH over one half of the tank

Yeeeaaah Im going with not so much that looks like a really go way to slice and dice your leo
