Hey guys, this is an enclosure I just made. Still needs work on the screen top but w.e. Substrate is Repti-carpet, and under that paper towl. Slate rocks sprayed with water on the cool side (cycles humidity works REALY well.) And a hide in this middle (only one gecko right now (getting more on sunday from expo hopefully) Under the substrate I have an elivated piece of glass with a under tank heater, this provides an elevation gradient. There is a humid hide on the cool side, and over the humid hide there is a vine.
3 lights:
Infra-Red
Basking
UV (I know this is not a common light for leos but it does help metabolic processes.)
a Few rocks are scattered about.
The overall dimentions are
56x21x12 front panel glass back is a wooden door. Top is screen but partial glass to support screen frame.
side panels are glass.
Bottom is a sliding wooden cabinet with a small refrigerator for mealworms and things that are refrigerated. Also there is a water mist spray, hand sanitizer, and latex gloves.
Attached are some pics. Please comment I dont mind suggestions, or critisism
I built this with my father. - if your considering larger enclosures, take the time to build it yourself. You have the gecko, and you are the best person to build a suitible home for them.
Note: I know the uv light is by the glass and glass filters uv rays out, its normaly mounted on top, but i had to get the proper screws to mount the light and its apparatus.
-Also yes, the leo does get around and eat properly and is not daughnted by the room. (in nature is there a 10gallon?- no) this may be all they NEED but not all they WANT.
