New Job..kinda!

I got a call yesterday from The Oaks Animal Hospital down the road from me. I filled out an application there about a month back with my resume. They weren't hiring people without prior office experience but there were a limited number of volunteer positions opened. The woman at the front desk said they pull a lot of employees from their volunteer pool. So this will give me the experience I need to be employed at an animal hospital (which is something I have to have to be even considered to be accepted into vet school by the board). So I'm so excited! I start tomorrow! Hope it goes well. YAY! :cowboy:

oh and I beat out a lot of people for this volunteer position...gives me a little satisfaction. lol.

Another fellow vet wannabe! You actually don't need to have hours but it definatly helps! I totally understand the frustration with getting a vet job, they want people with experiance but where the heck do you get that experiance!

Actually at our school (UF), the vet college looks for the 3 main things, excellent GPA, Excellent GRE score, and work experience. I've talked to my adviser and he is on the board. lol. I'm in my Junior Year of Animal Bio (pre-vet) right now...so I guess you could call me more of a "gonna be" and not a "wanna be". lol.

Awesome! Beware, you may fall in love with many animals like my best friend did. I know she ended up getting a dog and a cat from her job at a vet clinic. If she would have had the space, and hadn't gotten pregnant she probably would have ended up with her own zoo.
