Hey guys, this will be my second leo. I got him for free along with the cage and furnishings (I know sand is bad for juveniles, I just lined the floor with napkins - the previous owner used the sand).

What do you guys think he is? The previous owner got him as a gift on xmas so I'd guess he is 3 months old or so.

Any info is appreciated!

I like the gray head. :) Sorry I can't help too much with the morph. But he's quite cute! Personally, I use a little bit of the repti-sand in the tank. I went to a HomeDepot and got small square tiles and spread them out on the bottom of the tank. I use the sand as the grout for the tiles. They are really easy to clean and the tank looks real nice! It's a nice dessert scene and a cheap addition! I have been using this method for quite a while and have had absolutely no problems with impaction. My leos love it! :)

Thanks I think its pretty cool too. My other leo is a SHT so this one looks a bit different. I don't know if his color will change though. Most likely will since he's so young. I just learned last night the previous owner never provided calcium supplement either... Good thing I got him when I did.
Thats really cool! I've seen terrariums with the tile before. I like it a lot. I'll try your method on my adult geckos tank, but for now, I'm gonna be very careful with the baby (my first youngin) so maybe just tile for him :)

His sand was also muuuch dirtier than it was in these pictures and he had like XL crickets running around his cage (3 of them). I'm feeding mediums now.

Sweet. Thanks for your help!

And to answer why I didnt just remove the sand. I didn't clean its cage completely because I didn't want to put too much stress on the little guy. It just had 2 car rides and was taken to a new place. I felt that was enough stress for the day and now its in shed so I'm going to have to wait a bit more.

And that plastic bag was in there to line the bottom of the hide so I could mist inside it a few times. I also covered the big upper entrance with tape to hold in moisture.
